Zane is anxious; the previous speaker just spoke on a topic very similar to his own. Zane only has a few moments before he is called to the podium to speak. What method would be best for Zane to employ in his introduction?
A) Provide a startling fact or statistic so the audience will forget about the other speech.
B) Use humor to deride the previous speech and position his as the better topic.
C) Ask questions of the audience, such if they would like to hear about the same topic again.
D) Refer to the preceding speech and draw analogies to it.
