2x^3-4x+7 divided by (2x-1)
If doing synthetic division how do you know when you add or subtract after you multiply the first number?

Found an excellent video for you:

We can use a process called synthetic division to divide polynomials if the divisor is of the form x - c.

Your denominator is 2x-1, so I think you use polynomial division instead.
