Why should a presenter avoid distributing handouts before the presentation begins if the presentation follows the indirect approach?
A) The audience will use built in hyperlinks to verify the accuracy of the data
B) The animation will look flat and uninteresting
C) The audience can see the conclusion and recommendations before they are talked about
D) The presenter will have to provide additional details to make the presentation worth listening to
E) The audience will read about the presentation instead of listening to it

Reason:  C) Timing the distribution of handouts depends on their content, the nature of your presentation, and your personal preference. Some speakers like to distribute handout copies of their slides before the presentation begins so that the audience can take notes on them. Doing so can be risky, however, particularly if you've organized your talk with the indirect approach, because the audience can read ahead and reach the conclusion and recommendations before you're able to build up to them yourself.
