Explain how the knowledge of transcription and translation in eukaryotes and prokaryotes is helpful in the development of antibiotics?

Peptide-based antibiotics, including enzymes, can be produced by manipulating the genome of prokaryotes (e.g. bacteria) through the incorporation of "antibiotic genes" into its DNA. Given the simplicity of the organism, knowing how the process of protein synthesis starts and stops, a researcher can incorporate the gene within the start and stop site, thus forming recombinant DNA. The same process has been used since the 20th century when human insulin began being harvested from bacteria.
