Explain in your own words the advantages and disadvantages of determining the validity of arguments via truth tables (direct or indirect) and natural deduction. Do you have a preference for either method? If so, why: if not, why not? Answers should be 2-3 well-developed paragraphs .

The advantage of truth tables is that they are almost completely mechanical and require very little creative thinking. The disadvantage of truth tables is that they are  impractical and cumbersome for arguments involving several simple statements.

Advantages and disadvantages of truth tables

Advantages

·        The require less thinking, hence they are more mechanical.
·        The answer given is straight forward unlike using graphs

Disadvantage

·        They are impractical and cumbersome for arguments involving several simple statements
·        The answer might have the truth value of true however logically not correct
