Are you optimistic?

If Yes, Vaccines will be created for specific organ of the Human body or a Single vaccine ?

Example :

Cancer Vaccine for Liver
Cancer Vaccine for Pancreas
Cancer Vaccine for Blood

I don't think vaccines - which activate one's adaptive immune system - can stop cancer cells from spreading. Cancer cells are not foreign cells, where foreign cells typically unknown cell receptors that can trigger an immune response. Cancer cells are technically mutated human cells whose DNA is messed up.

In order for the immune system to initiate a response, it needs to "observe" foreign traits circulated in the blood or tissue. As mentioned, there are no cancer receptors. These receptor may also be present on normal cells, perhaps in different quantities and under developmental control. Take, for example the receptor encoded by the gene HER2; that receptor is just over expressed. It is also present and useful in normal cells.

Gardasil was designed to prevent the HPV species from infecting human cells. The reason why HPV can cause cancer is because of its pathogenicity. The viral DNA may integrate into the host genome from where the E6 and E7 genes are constitutively transcribed -- this is precisely how it may cause cancer because these genes could be inserted into genes that control the cell cycle! There's no cure at all. Cancer is hindered by stopping cell growth, and as mentioned, since cancer cells don't have a special marker, all cells (healthy and unhealthy) need to stop replicating.

At later stages of cancers, it has spread everywhere, hence it becomes practically impossible.

This is not your traditional vaccine though. Take from Wikipedia:

Tne approach to cancer vaccination is to separate proteins from cancer cells and immunize patients against those proteins as antigens, in the hope of stimulating the immune system to kill the cancer cells. Research on cancer vaccines is underway for treatment of breast, lung, colon, skin, kidney, prostate and other cancers.[5]

Another approach is to generate an immune response in situ in the patient using oncolytic viruses. This approach was used in the drug talimogene laherparepvec, a version of herpes simplex virus engineered to selectively replicate in tumor tissue and to express the immune stimulatory protein GM-CSF. This enhances the anti-tumor immune response to tumor antigens released following viral lysis and provides a patient-specific vaccine.[6]

Theoretically this could work as a final resort, but it's largely unproven. Still research is being conducted, and like I mentioned earlier, cancer cells go under the radar because they express nearly identical proteins to normal cells.

Great read.

I found an article that may interest you about this "oncophage". I know it's not a traditional vaccine, in the sense that vaccines PREVENT cancers, whereas this is a proactive approach to treatment after the fact, BUT it sounds promising

Hey again everyone, this is worthy of a blog article!

Here's what I found.

When these [oncophages; HSPPC-96] are re-administered to a patient following surgery or biopsy of the tumour, the antigenic tumour peptides are expressed on the surface of potent antigen-presenting cells of the immune system, such as macrophages and dendritic cells. This stimulates a much more powerful anti-tumour immune response than that generated by expression of the same antigens by the tumour cell. Thus, Antigenics autologous HSP technology is attractive because it is highly specific for individual patients and circumvents the need for identification of specific antigens for individual cancers (i.e. it does not require definition of the antigenic epitopes on cancer cells) and it overcomes the immune tolerance associated with various tumours. Oncophage is manufactured in a 10-hour process from surgically resected autologous tumour. A minimum of 1-3g of tumour tissue is required to produce enough Oncophage for a course of treatment. The major limiting factor for producing Oncophage from a particular cancer is the ability to purify HSP from that cancer. From clinical studies to date, Antigenics has been able to produce HSP from 100, 98, 90, 71 and 30% of colorectal carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, melanoma, gastric cancer and pancreatic cancer tumours, respectively.

Very promising stuff, but why haven't they continued with the research? I'd think it has to do with its success rate. For example, on Wikipedia, it states: "A first phase I clinical trial in glioma extended median survival of the group of patients, which was diagnosed with multiple recurrencies of glioma, to over 10 months."
