 In North America, we have BINGO! Same idea, numbers are called between 1 and 75 (I think), and you win by either getting the full card, corners, a line or diagonal line, or a square around the numbers. In more technical BINGO variations, they look for the following patterns once you yell BINGO:

 Almost all gaming cards sold in the North America are rectangular, for example:Partly because they're easier to handle and store in one's wallet. Also, form always needs to fit function. A circular, triangular, or >4 sided card wouldn't accomplish that.
