A fuel injected engine has a rough idle condition with high HC emissions only at idle and low speeds. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicating a lean air-fuel ratio is stored in the memory. Emissions of CO (Carbon Monoxide) and NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen) meet emission standards. At 2,500 engine rpm, the HC (hydrocarbon) emissions are normal. The MOST likely cause of this problem is which of these:

▸ Low fuel-pump pressure

▸ Stuck open EGR valve

▸ Defective injectors

▸ Defective ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor
