Thanks.

Jason Labs are doing good work in designing & developing a COVID-19 vaccine.

Comparative genomics is used to compare genomic features between different or similar organisms. It allows us to understand how the virus' genome changes from one recipient to the other, helping to predict how quickly it mutates and which parts of the species is most prone to mutation. We've already used it to identify the possible origins of the virus, where the one harvested from humans and that found natively in bats share a 99% similar genome. We will be using it forward to make future vaccines if the spread were to continue, much the same way the flu mutates every year.

Thanks for sharing these excellent resources, this document was particular informative: annurev-virology-110615-042301.pdf

Not by this organization. I don't think they have the best leadership.

ChAdOx1 is a vaccine adenovirus vector that could be used to deliver vaccine antigens where strong cellular immune responses are required. I don't see a problem using this, and it looks like they're moving forward with it:

The ChAdOx1 MERS vaccine consists of the replication-deficient simian adenovirus vector ChAdOx1, containing the MERS Spike protein antigen.
