What is the purpose of a predetermined fallback position in negotiation?

▸ Where negotiation on specific point might be concluded-concessions one is willing to make

▸ Knowing the weaknesses of vendors so that the best arguments can be made

▸ Competitors to approach if an acceptable deal cannot be made with the vendor

▸ Treats to evoke if purchaser does get their way with vendor-"bag of dirty tricks"
