Do Automated teller machines detect and not accept Fake Bank notes from customers giving them a message "Fake Bank notes detected"?

These machines accept all type of money, fake and real. When you deposit money, the money you say you added doesn't become immediately available to you. Rather, it is manually checked by a banker to authenticity.

Thanks.

I feel this may be possible with ATM programming. A system notification alert message/ s (email, SMS) are send to the Bank on account of Fake bank notes detected from the ATM.

It is possible, but from my experience depositing cash, money needs to be package in an envelope. The banker checks each bill individually for authenticity. Otherwise, each bill would have to be fed individually, and this could jam the machine, therefore causing problems for the client and bank.

Thank you.

For example, even a single bank note enclosed in paper envelope having bank note/s stacked by the customer is/are detected as fake, the alert notification/s are generated by the ATM and send to the corresponding Bank's Banker.

The ATM scanner hardware should detect all the Fake notes kept in the envelope.

Since the Bank notes are stacked in a paper closed envelope, this could be the limitation and technology challenges for Fake notes detection by the ATM ?

The ATM can be interfaced with the HP scanner device board and software internally for scanning bank notes stacks kept in different closed envelopes?

Is it technically feasible?

I don't think that's possible or reasonable... If you have a stack of 10 papers in an envelope, the machine would some need to be able to sort out the money mechanically, and feed each one into a scanner. That's a lot of work for a simple task. As a bank owner, I'd rather hire and train someone, rather than rely on a machine to detect anomalies. All that complexity for what gain?

As a stakeholder in the bank, I wouldn't want my bank to lose money building a machine that's not fool-proof.

Thank you.

Will it be difficult to automate ATM interfacing with Ultraviolet counterfeit detection device without human being intervention?

Can this be classified as a Interesting Research & Development Automation Fintech domain project?
