What does it mean when learning theorists use the term "salient" to describe stimuli?

It means the stimulus is pertaining to the sense of taste.

It means they are more susceptible to spontaneous recovery.

It means they are less likely to be noticed.

It means they are more likely to stand out among other stimuli.
