Hi! May someone please assist me with answering these questions?

Factor completely :
1) x^2-2+1
2) 8x^2+24xy+18^2
3) 3x^4-24x^2+48
4) 4r^2(w+2) -25(w+2)

Thanks! For question 2, when you plugged the 12’s back into the original expression, you dropped the y, as it was shown as xy in the original expression. Was that a mistake? I thought it had to still be 12xy + 12xy

I’ll check it out now! So now that I know it’s supposed to be 12xy, does factoring out 4x still work for that? Cause it confuses me how to factor 4x from 12xy. Is it possible to factor something out that has a variable (x or y for ex) that one of the coefficients in the expression don’t have? Or must factors contain something that every single coefficient also contains? We can’t just skip over that term can we?

I think the only difference will be the 6 and 3 will be 6y and 3y instead
