Why is it that there seems to be a social stigma attached to psychological disorders that is not so ...

Why is it that there seems to be a social stigma attached to psychological disorders that is not so readily seen when people suffer from physical conditions?

▸ Because people with mental illnesses are, in fact, in control of their conditions, whereas those with physical maladies are not in control of their symptoms

▸ Because the media has done little to break the myths that surround mental illnesses

▸ Because people with mental disorders are usually violent and dangerous

▸ Because people with mental disorders cannot recover and will always be afflicted with their symptoms
