Rainbow trout go through a unique genetic reproductive process. Female eggs are diploid, while male sperm are haploid. In the wild, when the sperm fertilizes an egg, the extra set of chromosomes is kicked out, resulting in a diploid offspring.

Triploid trout are produced in the lab to provide sterile fish stock for lakes. Shortly after the eggs are fertilized, scientists place them in a warm water bath to prevent the extra chromosomes from being removed. The result is a triploid fish that cannot reproduce.

Rainbow trout: n=30

For rainbow trouts female eggs are diploid and male sperms are haploid. Since n=30 for rainbow trouts, so egg will be 2n=60 and sperm will be n=30. In the wild when sperm is fused to eggs an extra set of chromosome is kicked out. So, in the wild the offsprings produced will be 2n=60. Triploid trouts are produced in the labs by kepping them in warm bath thus raising the temperature that prevents the kicking out the extra set of chromosomes. So, offsprings produced in labs will be 3n=90. The alternative which contains all the correct option is option-d.

#3

Since global warming increased the temperature of lakes and ponds so extra set of chromosomes will not be removed after fertilization of egg by sperm in rainbow trout. As a result triploid offsprings (3n) will be produced. Triploid trouts will be non-fertile i.e. sterile. Thus the population of rainbow trout will decrease as the triploid fisher are unable to reproduce which in turn will decrease the biodiversity. The numbers that describe the possible effects of global warming on the reproduction if rainbow trout and on biodiversity are-

1.The extra set of chromosomes remain

4. The offspring are triploid (3n)

5. The offspring cannot reproduce

7. Biodiversity decreases

i.e. 1,4,5,7.

Mitosis cell division is a type of cell division where one parent cell divides for a single time to give rise to two daughter cells identical to parental cell. It helps in growth, repair and developmental processes. DNA is replicated in Synthesis phase or S-phase of mitosis which is a part on interphase. Whereas meiosis is a specialized cell division, occurs during gamete formation where a parental cell divides twice to give rise to four cells which are unique.

So the statements that describes the process of mitosis are-

1. used for growth, repair, and development

3. involves one cell division

6. each daughter cell produced is genetically identical to the parent

7. DNA is replicated during interphase

i.e. 1,3,6,7.

#5

The events in cell division takes place in the following order-

1. DNA replication takes place: It is initial phase of cell division takes place in S-phase of interphase of the preparatory phase.

5. Chromosomes condense: Chromosome condensation takes place in first phase of the division phase know as prophase.

3.Chromosomes align at the equator of the cell: In the second stage of the division chromosomes are arranged in the equator of the cell and it is known as metaphase.

4. Centromeres split; sister chromatids pull apart: In the third stage of the division phase known as anaphase the sister chromatids are pulled apart by spindle fibres after splitting of centromere.

6. Chromatids move to opposite poles: In the last stage of the division phase the telophase the chromatids move to two opposite poles.

2.Cytoplasm divides: After all these nucelar divisions the cytoplasm divides to give rise to new cells and it is known as cytokinesis.

So the sequence in which the events numbered above occur in the cell division is 1,5,3,4,6,and 2.
