Why can't we see any parts of the universe that are farther than 13. 8 billion light-years away?

The farthest object in the universe is 13. 8 billion light-years away and there is nothing beyond it.

We haven't built a telescope that is powerful enough to see any farther.

There is a giant cloud that obscures our view of anything farther away.

Light from farther distances hasn't had time to reach us.
