Which is the most convincing analysis of the conflict between Stalin and the other Allies over opening a Western Front in the war?
A) Stalin wished for relief from the German onslaught, but the other Allies wanted to wear Germany down in Africa and Italy before a direct attack.
B) Stalin asked for help against the Germans, but Western allies could see he didn’t really need it.
C) Stalin pushed for the opening of a Western front, but the Allies wanted to defeat Japan first.
D) The Western allies believed Stalin was exaggerating the German threat so that they would be forced to do most of the fighting against Germany.
E) The Western allies were weakened from battle and were unable to open a Western front, although Stalin called for it actively.
