APE Jambo baldly goes where few chimps in a Brit zoo have gone before - after losing all his hair.

The 28-year-old suffers from the hair-loss disease alopecia.

The smooth operator lives happily at Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire where he has fathered three babies.

He is also a big hit with zoo visitors.

Sarah George, of nearby Coalville, said her daughter Sophie, six, felt sorry for Jambo. "Sophie thinks we should get him a coat because he looks cold."
