Every morning at school, the teacher gathers the students around the rug for circle time. For the first several weeks, he runs through the routine of reviewing the day of the week, singing a few songs, and then reviews the schedule for the day. By the second month of class, he asks one of his students to lead circle time each morning. Rogoff would say this is an example of :
