When you cross two different traits using the dihybrid cross, does it affect the traits at all? i mean, does one trait affect another trait? My teacher asked this question earlier and we're supposed to defend our answers tomorrow in a debate!! i only started studying genetics last week and i have no idea but i answered "yes"... without even thinking!!! help!!

The only way one trait would affect the other is if the genes are linked.. meaning, they don't sort independently because they're both located on the same chromosome.
Otherwise, I'm not sure exactly what the question is asking.. but independently sorting genes don't affect one another.
