I wanted to major in physics too!  However, I found the work load unbearable and incomprehensible.  You need a very strong foundation in mathematics.  Also, the job situation for physicists suck, especially if you don't want to teach.  Engineering is a very good alternative with good job potential.  You're clearly thinking smarter than I was at your age.

As a physics major job opportunities are nearly limitless.  If you are a physics major it means you will have great reasoning skills, the ability to look at problems for many angels, and a great grasp of mathematics.  This will help you get jobs in the scientific world , places like wall street or and other kids of business, as well as government jobs.

If you like Physics go for it. There is a lot of scope in it if you have done your Home work.
If you specialise in astro physics you have a direct preference to NASA, ISRO or IUCAA(pune)
Then in electrophysics you have scope in the electronic industry.
Through geophysics you can study the physical aspects of the earth which can give you a post equivalent to a civil engineer.
Acoustics(MY FAVOURITE) can make you a consultant for the construction of auditoriums, concert halls etc. IT can also give you a job in the music making gadget industry.
Nuclear Physics can be your ticket to a nuclear power station or in the making of a nuclear weapon (which I really do not like because of the destruction it causes)

I hope this will if not satisfy at least give you an idea of the scope of physics.

The possibilities are endless. I have a friend who majored in Physics, he currently sells and services scientific equipment (lab equipment, things of that nature). If you love something and have a strong passion for it, stick with it.

My baby sister got her doctorate in Physics before asking herself this question!  Then she put a Van Der Graaf generator and a bed of nails in a double-decker bus, and drove to schools encouraging girls to go into the Sciences.

Then she did this (!!!!):

What you should do is whatever you love to do.  Then just follow it wherever it takes you.  (I think she's in Beijing helping a team build a Science Museum there now!)
