When comparing the outcomes of those who attended Head Start and other preschool readiness programs to    their counterparts from low socioeconomic background who did not attend, it was found that
a.  overall, the programs are not cost effective, although there are some benefits.
b.  those who attended were more likely to be retained a grade where they got the special help they needed.
c.  those who attended  were more likely to have reduced levels of criminal activity.
d.  those who attended excelled in elementary school but were more likely to drop out by tenth grade.
