i've been wondering, hormone pills like contraceptive pills, or estrogen pills for red flushes, they are hormones, which are proteins,
then wouldn't they be digested upon contact with saliva, stomach acid, or bile?
so would people who put the pills on the mouth, and dissolve then swallow actually have no use of the pill?
how would hormones even get absorbed?

i know it may sound really stupid, but i don't get it

If it is protein-based, and you eat it, it will be digested, rendering it useless. Give me an example of a hormone.
