Full question in my lab book: "Drinking Gatorade or other electrolyte sports drink is a common practice among athletes. Explain why it is important to drink these kinds of fluids rather than coke or other soft drinks."
I think based on the lecture my professor gave that she wants an explanation using the hypotonic cellular reaction to Gatorade (or something along those lines). But I'm not sure how exactly that works. Why is Gatorade better than soft drinks for hydration in human cells?
