I have an under-active thyroid condition and am currently taking Thyroxine tablets. I have recently read some comments from  people on a Thyroid Forum stating that Co enzyme Q10 can work wonders for Thyroid disorders, increasing energy etc. Does anybody know if this is the case and if it is safe to use these two medications together?

Coenzyme Q10 is a non-vitamin. It is a compound that is present in and functions in mitochondria, but it is a compound that is totally unnecessary to take as a supplement. Your cells have the capacity to produce all of the Q10 that they need. Consuming more will just mean that less is produced by the cells. I don't believe there is any evidence to support the idea that taking Q10 supplements will affect anything at all.

Given that, I wouldn't suspect that any harm will result from taking the Q10 supplement. The only harm is likely to be to your bank account.
