Multiply the second equation by (-3) and add it to the first. THis way you eliminate x and can solve for y.
(-3x-y)+(3x-6y)=-9+30
-7y=21
y=-3
Then use either equation to solve for x.
-x+2y=-10
-x-6=-10
-x=-4
x=4

-x-2y=-10
-x=y =-5
y=-5+x

-3x-(-5+x)=-9
-3x+5-x=-9
-4x+5=-9
-4x=-14
x=3.5
