Volts times amps = watts, so 5000 watts / 220 volts = 22.727272 amps.

1 hp = 745.699872 watts, so 5 hp = 3728.499 watts.  Volts times apms = watts, so 3728.499 watts / 220 volts = 16.9477 amps.

I think that Watt= volt* Amp so 5000/220=22.72 Amp cuz 5000 is watt..
And HP is horse power
HP=745.7 Watt
You count that!!

Divide 5kW by 200 volts to give a safety factor---25 Amps.

Figure 1000 watts per HP because motors are not 100 percent efficient---so again, it's 25 amps.

Now considering that you wish to start the motor, you need to allow for starting current.  A factor of two is consevative, so figure 50 Amps.

P=power (W), I=AMP (A), E= VOLT.

Do Know how to solve algebraic math or equations?

P=I X E, ---  5000= I X 220V. Solve for I, therefore:

5000/220 = I, what's that equal to.  so, I = 42.07A. (high current.)
