A 40-year-old woman with a history of bee sting anaphylaxis used her epinephrine auto-injector about 15 minutes ago while awaiting your arrival. She initially had some relief from her difficulty breathing and feeling of weakness. Now she says she is having more difficulty breathing and is feeling light-headed. You should:
A) assume the auto-injector had expired and was not effective.
B) irrigate the sting site with water to remove additional venom.
C) ask her if she has a second dose of epinephrine and assist her in using it.
D) ask her if she is sure it was a bee sting, since the epinephrine is not working.
