I know that isotonic is when there is equal concentration but I get really confused when it comes to hypo and hypertonic solutions. If anybody has some cheesy, easy way to remember the difference between the two it would be much appreciated.

I would suggest that you think of a word beginning hyper-... that is familiar to you and which you understand well.  Maybe hyperactive (meaning over-active) might be suitable.  This would help you to remember that hyper-... is always used to mean something that is above something else.  So it is easy then to spot that hypotonic means more than isotonic (i.e. more solute than... or a greater concentration).

Conversely you could think of hypodermic, which means under the skin - a hypodermic needle is used to inject something under the skin.  So hypo... means under....
