Say if you are put on the pill to regulate your cycle ...not planning on having sex...just wondering if it was low dose bc pills would it still be just as effective at preventing pregnancy.

Yes they are just as effective.  The low dose isn't what stops you from getting pregnant, its the hormone that is the lower dose.  So you don't bleed as much when you go off for the week, or you don't gain weight.  Things like that.  Yaz is a very low dose and it helps you lose weight!

I was on Tricyclen Lo ...which is a lower dose and I am married and never got pregnant. I was on it for 6 months and never had any surprises. However I just recently had to switch to a stonger one. Because the hormones got lower each week and by the 3rd week I was getting my period...when it shouldn't have been until the 4th week. And even though I had all that happen, it was still effective. Hope that helps answer your question.
