Your patient is a 40-year-old female who is conscious and alert, in minor distress, and complaining of nausea and palpitations. She describes a gradual worsening of nausea, headache, and restlessness over the past 2 weeks, and she states that she started having frequent episodes of palpitations yesterday. Physical examination reveals hot, dry skin; PEARL clear lungs, and an oral temperature of 103 F. HR = 118, BP = 152/108, RR = 14, SpO2= 98%. She claims a history of depression for which she started taking an MAO inhibitor 2 weeks ago. She also takes an over-the-counter medication for appetite control, and numerous over-the-counter medications for hay fever and allergies daily. Based on the clinical exam findings, which of the following medications would most benefit this patient?
A) Narcan
B) Aspirin
C) Sodium bicarbonate
D) Valium
