Can someone explain to me how to do this?

Differentiate between the reactants and the products in the reaction represented by the equation?copper + water Rightwards Arrow copper(II) oxide + hydrogen.

It's for chemistry but I've looked in so many places and I don't get it! >< Any help is much appreciated. thank you!
