I am having trouble distinguishing between compounds as nonpolar, polar, or ionic. Is CH4 nonpolar, polar, or ionic? Crying Face

CH4 = Methane, has polar bonds arranged in a symmetric shape and is therefore nonpolar. As a general rule, polar molecules are asymmetrical and nonpolar molecules are symmetrical.
