How does random chromsome segregation explains the probability that a particular allele will be in a gamete?

The random segregation of the allele is dependent on the distance between them to be segregated. For example the more the distance between two alleles more will be the probability of an allele to be randomly segregated and those being close display linkage and do not get randomly segregated instead remain together.
