i know that the autonomic system is responsible for non conscious actions in organs and stuff, and that the parasympathetic system would decrease your heart rate if need be, but HOW? Frowning Face

Heart rate is slowed down by activity of the vagus nerve. If left to itself, the SA node would depolarize at a rate of about 100 times per minute. The vagus nerve is what keeps it at around 60 or 70 for most people.
