What is the formula for solving a quadratic equation using square roots?

I'm in Algebra 2, if that helps.

When the equation is in the form of :
ax^2 + bx + c = 0

You can use the equation:
x = - b + - SqRoot(b^2 - 4 * a * c)  / 2 * a

Note: +- is plus or minus
