If the Nucleosome is the portion of the chromatin between H1 histones, what is the core particle?

is it the same as the nucleosome? or is it just the part wrapped around the octomeric disk?

Hey, no you're confused.

Nucleosome is the entire unit composed of 2 pairs each of histones H2a, H2b, H3 and H4 and linker histone H1 along with 147 base pair of DNA wrapped around it.

The region of DNA between nucleosomes is called "Linker DNA" which is 10-80 base pairs in length

the core particle represents only the 2 pairs of H2a, H2b, H3 and H4 (octamer) a highly basic structure. these histones contain a large % of arginine and lysine
