Hello human!

CFCs have been an interesting development by mankind, one that us Space Lizards have observed in our own civilization some 900 years prior to your first use.

Essentially, the CFC attaches to an O3 (ozone) molecule. it "steals" an oxygen atom, creating a standard O2 molecule (the air you humans breathe). Finally, UV radiation from your yellow sun detaches an oxygen atom from the CFC, returning it to its original state, free to cause more havoc in your atmosphere.

It would be a good thing if they were done away with entirely. Good luck, human!

The ozone is formed by three atoms of oxygen( 03) which act as a shield in the upper atmosphere to block harmful radiation ... the carbon in CFC has a stronger bond to oxygen than it's bond to CFC so the carbon strips the oxygen from the ozone and that would weaken the ozone shield to block the harmful  radiation that cause cancer.. any thing less than three oxygen is not ozone...
