Ok, I read this from 2 different sources one stated that carbon monoxide is a weakly acidic oxide and will react with hot, acidic sodium hydroxide to produce sodium methanoate and this is in fact evidence of an acid-base reaction, http://www.chemguide.co.uk/inorganic/group4/oxides.html. The other states that carbon monoxide is a neutral  oxide.
