Carbon Monoxide is covalent.
Sodium Oxide is ionic.

I don't know if that matters, but please help me out.. I think that has something to do with it.

does matter. Molecules with covalent bonds have much lower melting point than those with ionic bonds. I dunno why tho haha. Sorry.

Also because ionic molecules have much stronger intermolecular forces, and the higher the intermolecular forces, the higher the melting point. So carbon monoxide would have to have a lower melting point.
