Why is a water bottle a good analogy for a large vacuole? (and perhaps why not)?

From my perspective, the water bottle is like a vacuole in that when you compress the water bottle and put it under water and release the compression it takes in what it was submerged in. When you want, you can expell or express what is in the water bottle. A vacuole takes in material surrounding it and can express it like squeezing the water bottle. The biggest difference is how material is taken up. The water bottle is limited by the small opening, whereas, the vacuole will engulf material. If you unscrewed the top off the water bottle it could take in larger particles but the "suction" would be diminished but larger particles could be taken up. I hope this helps
