An electronic flash unit for a camera contains a capacitor with a capacitance of 900 µF. When the unit is fully charged and ready for operation the potential difference between the capacitor plates is 210 V.
(a) What is the magnitude of the charge on each plate of the fully charged capacitor?

(b) Find the energy stored in the "charged-up" flash unit.

q = C v = 900 x 10^-6 * 210 = 0.189 Coul

U = 1/2 C v^2 = 0.5 * 900 x 10^-6 * 210^2 = 19.8 J
