I am having trouble with this homework, and I need some help. I am supposed to write equations in slope-intercept form. How do I do this? Here is an example of the first equation:
 2y = x *And then I have to give the slope and y-intercept of the equation. I missed this
day, so I don't even know what these terms mean! All I know is that it has something to do with graphing.

SOS.

Stay calm. In this case, all you need to do is isolate for y. In the 2y=x => y=x/2 => y=(1/2)x + 0. The slope m = (1/2) and the y-intercept b = 0.

The general equation for any straight line is

y = mx + c where m is the slope and c is the number constant

So rearrange your equation so that a single y is on its own on the left

2y = x becomes

y = x/2 + 0............there is no number constant

remember m is the slope and this is the number in front of x

so the slope is 1/2

the line cuts the y axis when x = 0

when x = 0 y = 0 so the y intercept is at point [0.0]
