So a maternal-effect is the phenotype of the offspring depends on the genotype of the parents

If Brown eyes (B) are dominant to blue eyes (b) in aliens, and eye color is a maternal-effect trait in the aliens, What are all the possible genotypes of the parents if two blue eyed aliens are mated and all of the offspring have brown eyes?

Our genetic blueprint is a blend of our parents. Some traits express themselves with one or two genetic patterns. Others are expressed through multiple genes. I am not sure which ones have a bearing on intelligence, but the father would potentially contribute, as well. Nothing is inherited from only one parent. You get roughly half of your genetic code from each. The only exception is mitochondrial DNA, which comes only from the mother, and the Y chromosome, which only comes from the father.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maternal_effect
