Rachel is prescribed a drug that inhibits the maturation and differentiation of T cells. Therefore, she can only exhibit what type of adaptive immunity:

antibody-mediated

cell-mediated

innate

adaptive

her entire cell-mediated immune response (adaptive immunity) will be impaired

Antibody mediated - only the T-cells that she already has (antibodies) will be useful. Her adaptive immunity will be impaired too - impaired, but not completely broken!

There are only two types of adaptive immunity which are cell mediated and humoral immunity. Since T cells are effected by the drug then that wipes out her entire cell mediated response. The only one left to help defend against pathogens is humoral immunity. This type of immunity deals with B cell. B cell proliferate to form either plasma cell or memory. Plasma cells form antibodies which will be the only active form to help fight off any pathogen.
