While immobilizing a musculoskeletal injury, you must consider all of the following principles of splinting EXCEPT: 
A) Check the distal pulse, motor and sensory function before and after splinting.
B) Splint an isolated extremity injury prior to moving the patient to the stretcher.
C) Gently replace protruding bone ends back beneath the skin to prevent further contamination.
D) Immobilize the site of an extremity injury from the joint above it to the joint below it.
