I've read that plasma membrane allow hydrophobic signals like steroid hormones to pass through membrane and cause signal transdction and Hydrophilic signals are not allowed to pass through the cell membrane,it attaches to the receptor and cause signal transduction. Eg Neurotransmitters

how hydrophobic signals alone permeable through the cell membrane and why hydrophillic signals binds with receptor and not permeable?

Hydrophobic molecules can pass through the membrane, which for the most part contains a hydrophobic interior.
