1. problem solving using the substitution method
2. problem solving using the elimination method
3. solve x-2= -3x

1. Example using substitution: X+Y=10, 3X+7Y=38. You can substitute Y=10-X into the second equation. This will give you 3X+7(10-X)=38. 4X=32 and X=8 so Y=2.

2. Example using elimination: X+Y=10, 3X+7Y=38. Multiple the first equation by 3. Then, 3X+3Y=30. Subtract the two equations to get 4Y=8 so Y=2. Then X=8.
