it gets pumped through the blood stream just like any other blood cell and then goes through the lymph system.  in the lymph system it's gravity and valves that keep it moving.  if it doesn't move then you have problems with drainage/lymph accumulation (edema) which is unhealthy.  plus if it doesn't go through like normal, it won't get to the spleen to get filtered out when lymphocytes die/act up or when other substances that need to be filtered out accumulate.
