the blunt ended (non-sticky) segment of dna shows below has restriction sites I and II cut by the HindIII restriction enzyme, which creates restriction fragments A,B, and C. Draw a cartoon of what the bands would look like on the gel after restriction digest, gel electrophoresis, treatment with EtBr and visualization using UV light. Please label each band and indicate which end is the positive electode and which is the negative electrode on your cartoon.

[A     lBl              C ]
        I II

-if the above restriction fragments generated by HindIII were mixed with a plasmid digested at one site with HindIII and DNA ligase enzyme, which fragment(s) A,B, or C would likely ligate into the plasmid DNA? why?

Negative End (Start Site)

|_C (because largest)

|_B (because shortest)

Positive End (End Site)

For the second part, I would say B because the sticky ends from the digest are on either side of the B portion.
